Symphonic metal news with a sprinkle of fairy dust

Cover Art for New Tarja Album Revealed

Top: Normal cover. Bottom: Special edition cover.

Colours in the Dark is Tarja's third studio album to be released worldwide, following 2007's My Winter Storm and 2010's What Lies Beneath. It seems that Tarja - one of the pioneers of symphonic metal singing - will be taking a brighter and more experimental direction with this record. According to her blog, the title comes from a line in the song "Until Silence":

I saw our memories die
thought our dreams had lost their meaning
but dreams still in my heart
are painting colours in the dark

Further song titles for the album have been given as "Mystique Voyage" and "Deliverance". The photoshoot for the psychedelic cover art took place in India and the photographer was Dirk Rudolph.

The official homepage for the album can be found here. It will be released on August 23rd, 2013.
