Tuomas Holopainen Reveals Scrooge McDuck Project Details

Nightwish mainman and well known Disney superfan Tuomas Holopainen has spent this year working on a not-particularly-secret side project: his lifelong dream to write a soundtrack to go with the comic book The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. The original artist has stepped in to work with Tuomas on the project and produced this wonderful artwork for the CD cover.

The album has 10 songs in total and features old Nightwish favourites the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Metro Voices choir, as well as the multi-talented Troy Donockley. Voice work on the album will be provided by Alan Reid, Johanna Iivanainen (a Finnish singer), Johanna Kurkela (also a Finnish singer and Tuomas's partner) and Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica).

The lead single will be "A Lifetime of Adventure" and it will be released with a music video in early 2014, with the album out shortly after in April.
