Leaves' Eyes and More Announced for MFVF

German/Norwegian symphonic metal superstars Leaves' Eyes will once again be bringing their folk and Viking metal-tinged act to the MFVF. Singer Liv Kristine will also be performing a solo show at the festival.

Many other bands have also been announced, including Hell City (Belgium), Kontrust (Austria/Poland), Cadaveria (Italy), Crimfall (Finland), Kobra and the Lotus (Canada), and Dalriada (Hungary).

MFVF takes place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of October 2013.

Epica's Retrospect to be Released on DVD

Epica's 10th Anniversary concert, Retrospect, was watched last night by many fans around the world. The concert featured guest appearances from Floor Jansen and three previous members of the band (pictured) as well as the full orchestra and choir. The three hour setlist was as follows:

During the show, Coen took to the microphone to announce that the concert would be released on DVD as the whole thing was already filmed for the stream, however there is no date set for the release as yet.

Nightwish Imaginaerum Movie Available for Pre-Order

Nightwish's Imaginaerum is now available to pre-order from their Official Webshop. There are also some bundles available, as you can see above. This version will be released on the 24th of April, and the first 300 orders receive a free badge set.

There are also some special editions available on the Nuclear Blast shop, though it seems these will not be released until the 31st of May. These editions are Steelbooks and likely to come with the option of more languages, though the default will be English. The Mail Order edition is limited to 500 numbered copies, and comes in a special box with a 1000 piece puzzle. There are no pictures of this available as yet.

New Confirmations For MFVF: REVAMP and DELAIN

The inimitable Floor Jansen will be returning to Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium with her band ReVamp! They have a new album out this year, which is being recorded in between Floor's performances with Nightwish.

Also from the Netherlands - the amazing Delain have been added! Delain are said to be planning something "very special" for the occasion. They recently signed a new deal with Napalm Records and are releasing a special album in May (see further down the blog for details).

Some new and relatively unknown bands have also been added to the lineup, including Chaostar (Greece), L'Endevi (Spain) and Victorians (Poland).

MFVF takes place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of October 2013.

Epica News - Concert Livestream and Phantom Agony Re-Release

Dutch symphonic metal giants Epica will be streaming their forthcoming 10th Anniversary show, "Retrospect". A ticket for this online event can be bought here - http://www.livemusicstage.com/epica 

It will cost 5 euros for a limited time only, after which the price will be 7 euros. There is also a special bundle with a t-shirt and ticket available on the band's webshop. The show will feature a live orchestra and choir, and promises to be packed with special effects and guest appearances.

In other Epica news, they have announced a new Expanded Edition of their début album The Phantom Agony. This album has been a rarity for several years as the original record company stopped producing new copies. Now fans can own a brand new version remastered from the original recordings. It will be available in 2CD or 2LP formats and features 15 bonus tracks including orchestrals, single versions and a previously unreleased track.
