EPICA - THE SECOND STONE (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Epica have released another music video with live footage from The Quantum Enigma tour. This time the song chosen is The Second Stone and the video was filmed at Pukkelpop Festival. This one features some cool shots taken from cameras attached to the band's instruments.

NIGHTWISH FINISH DRUM RECORDINGS

Nightwish have announced the completion of their first drum recordings for their upcoming album, with Wintersun's Kai Hahto stepping in for Jukka who is taking a break for health reasons. The band posted some photos of the occasion on their Official Facebook:


It's good to see that Jukka is managing to stay involved despite his health issues. He is still working behind the scenes running business aspects of the band, including the merch store. Speaking of which, Mad Supply have some new Nightwish t-shirt designs in and are also having a sale. You can get the official Finnish book for €4.50 and the Showtime, Storytime DVD for €8. There are also free gifts available for any orders over €20 and €40.

MFVF UNITED LINE-UP


Those lucky enough to be attending Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium will get to witness the following impressive line-up of singers as part of Friday evening's entertainment MFVF United

Ailyn (Sirenia) - Maxi Nil (Jaded Star) - Karolina Pacan (Skeptical Minds) - Iliana Tsakiraki (Enemy of Reality) - Mariangela Demurtas (Tristania - Kassandra Novell (The Mill Dogs) - Saeko Kitamae (Saeko)

Similar to the Eve's Apple group that performed in previous years before disbanding, the vocalists will perform cover versions of well known rock and metal songs. Saeko will also be doing a special performance of a benefit song for orphans of the Japan earthquake.

FIRST BANDS ANNOUNCED FOR NORTHERN SYMPHONY FESTIVAL


The UK's first ever symphonic metal festival Northern Symphony has announced two bands for its line-up:

Scandelion: a gothic doom band who originated in the Canary Islands before moving to the UK.
and
Quietus: a Cambridge-based band that mix symphonic metal with other elements like dubstep, drum'n'bass and cyberpunk lyrics.

The festival aims to have all different types of symphonic metal bands represented at the event, so this should certainly be an interesting one to check out.

DARKEST ERA UK TOUR


Northern Irish metal band Darkest Era have announced a UK tour. Joining Darkest Era as support are Farseer (First three dates only), Ancient Ascendant (Full tour/Main Support) and Hundred (Last four dates).
