NIGHTWISH TOP STELLAR LINE-UP FOR MASTERS OF ROCK (CZ)

In the first of next year's festival announcements for Nightwish, the band are set to headline the Czech Republic's Masters of Rock festival, which takes place on the 9th-12th July 2015.

This festival frequently features a lot of symphonic metal bands, and this year is no exception. Although the line-up is not yet fully announced, it already includes such great bands as Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Delain, Xandria and Septicflesh.

For full info and tickets, check the Masters of Rock website.

Elsewhere in Nightwish news, the band have been hard at work this week recording orchestra and choir for their upcoming album with music maestro Pip Williams - and were even joined by drummer Jukka, who is taking a backseat for the moment while he suffers from severe insomnia.

NEW SONGS FROM MFVF SPECIAL ACT + LEAVES' EYES STAGING PEEK

The Sirens (a team-up between genre pioneers Kari Rueslåtten, Anneke Van Giersbergen and Liv Kristine) have released two songs ahead of their special Metal Female Voices Fest (Belgium) performance next week.

The first, Sisters of the Earth, is quite an upbeat melodic metal feminist anthem, while Embracing The Seasons is a softer, nature themed piano ballad. I think their voices make a beautiful combination - do you agree?

The group's UK show has recently changed venue to The Garage.

Have a listen to the songs below.

Liv Kristine has been busy lately - she's also been recording the first music video for her solo album Vervain, and has been preparing for Leaves' Eyes huge 10th anniversary show Hymns of A Decade, headlining the Saturday at MFVF. The band posted the photo below, a sneak peek at some of the epic staging that will be featured.

Special t-shirt designs will be available for The Sirens, Liv and Leaves' Eyes (a unique design that proclaims you were there for the anniversary).

In case you missed it, MFVF will be taking a break next year (2015) - read all about it here.
