Muses of Metal Festival, MFVF and Other Fest Announcements


Birmingham-based progressive power metallers Dakesis will be joining the line up for Muses Of Metal festival on May 7th 2016. The band are set to release their second album The New Dawn on March 10th, a long-awaited follow up to their critically acclaimed debut album Trial By Fire.

Dakesis will join Draconian, Pythia, Forever Still and more in the line up. A new act appearing at the festival will continue to be announced every one to two weeks.

Elsewhere in the world of symphonic and female-fronted metal festivals - Tarja has been announced as the second headliner for Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium. She joins Leaves' Eyes (and Liv Kristine solo), MaYaN, Battlelore (returning from hiatus), Whyzdom, Kontrust, Artrosis, SAVN, Bergtatt, Spoil Engine and more on the line-up.

MFVF takes place in the Oktoberhallen in Wieze on the 21st - 23rd of October 2016.

The fifth edition of Swiss festival Masters of Symphonic Metal was also announced this week. Leaves' Eyes will be headlining, with more bands still to come.

This festival takes place at Z7 in Pratteln on Saturday 14th May 2016.

For those in the UK, there's also Northern Symphony Festival. Taking place over two stages, the first stage features Theatres Des Vampires, Alwaid, Old Corpse Road, Orpheum, Suddenlash, Reign of Sirius and Winter Storm. The second stage features further bands including Maelstrom, Formicarius, Ward XVI, Rhenium and Darkest Obsidian with more to be announced.

This festival takes place at The Venue in Selby, Yorkshire, on Saturday 16th April 2016.
