There's been a bunch of news in the world of symphonic metal/metal with female vocalists this week, so why not put it all in one handy blog entry? Here we go...
LACUNA COIL ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM
Italian superstars Lacuna Coil are returning to our speakers on April 1st (let's hope this is no April fool's joke!) in the USA and March 31st in Europe and Australia. Titled Broken Crown Halo, the album is described as "cinematic" and there have been hints that the band might be taking a more symphonic direction. They will also be embarking on a US tour.
WITHIN TEMPTATION SIGNING IN LONDON
To celebrate the release of their upcoming Hydra record, WT have announced a special event at HMV Oxford Street in London. This will include an intimate 20 minute acoustic show followed by a signing session with the band. Tickets are extremely limited and go on sale tomorrow (15/01/2014) at midday. We can't wait!

SONATA ARCTICA TO TOUR THE US/CANADA WITH DELAIN AND XANDRIA
Sonata Arctica are one of Finland's biggest power metal offerings, and this year they're returning to the USA and Canada for a massive tour, and they're bringing with them two of the best groups in symphonic metal: Delain and Xandria. What a treat for North American fans! The dates are as follows:

The band's new album, Pariah's Child, will be released on the 28th of March. Delain are currently working on a follow-up to 2012's We Are The Others and Xandria's Sacrificium will be released on the 2nd of May.
REVAMP ADDED TO BLOODSTOCK LINE-UP
Fans of the mighty flying Dutchwoman Floor Jansen will be pleased to hear that she's bringing her band ReVamp to the UK for Bloodstock Open Air Festival. They join some of metal's biggest names: Lacuna Coil, Emperor, Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth and many more.
TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN'S UNCLE SCROOGE PROJECT UP FOR PRE-ORDER
Nightwish main man Tuomas is releasing his solo project in April, and it is now available to pre-order. The album is a passion project - he has always wanted to write a soundtrack to The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, his favourite comic book. Currently only available from official outlet Mad Supply, the album is available in t-shirt bundles or on its own. You can also order a signed copy of the first single, A Lifetime of Adventure, which features Tuomas's partner Johanna Kurkela on vocals.
