News Update

Dear readers, I've been away recently as I was in hospital having an operation on my stomach. Now I'm feeling a fair bit better and can return to the blog! So here's a quick news round-up of things that happened while I was away...

WITHIN TEMPTATION AND TARJA RELEASE VIDEO FOR "PARADISE (WHAT ABOUT US?"


The video features the band and the Tarja Turunen playing in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and has a great storyline and top notch visuals. It's already been a success with 630,000 views so far and many fans praising the video. The single is available as part of a four track EP of the same name - three of the tracks are demo versions of songs from the upcoming album. You can purchase the EP digitally from iTunes and Amazon MP3 (the CD version will only be available for Japanese fans).


TARJA TO DUET WITH FLOOR JANSEN AT MFVF

In the first piece of news from Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium, Tarja has announced yet another duet - and this time it's with ReVamp and Nightwish touring vocalist Floor Jansen. The two operatic powerhouses were among the first to pioneer the symphonic metal genre. Tarja and Floor have known each other since Nightwish toured with After Forever in the early 2000s. It is unknown which song the two will perform together - any chance of some Nightwish?


LACUNA COIL RECORDING NEW ALBUM AND WORKING ON SPECIAL SHOW FOR MFVF

This week Cristina Scabbia has been posting updates on her Facebook from the studio where she is recording vocals for the band's next album. In an interview with Metal Symphony, she describes the album as "cinematic", and then goes on to reveal that the band have something special planned for this year's MFVF: they will play their hit album Karmacode in its entirety, as well as other songs.


NIGHTWISH ANNOUNCE SPECIAL FAN CONTEST AND ART PROJECT

To celebrate the release of upcoming live DVD Showtime, Storytime, Nightwish have unveiled a new competition. Fans are asked to submit their memories of the tour to be included in an art project. Some will be featured on the band's Facebook and the lucky winners will get a signed art print as well as voucher for the Nightwish shop.
